SDCC Giveaway Extravaganza - Kid Icarus: Uprising AR Card Set

First up we have three sets of Kid Icarus: Uprising AR cards to give away. These AR cards will be usable in the final retail version of the game in the AR Card Battle mode. Each set comes with three cards featuring the characters Pit, Palutena and Medusa. Each card is also stamped on the back 'Comic-Con  2011' to help distinguish them from their future counterparts. These cards were only available at the Nintendo Gaming Lounge during SDCC 2011.

If you haven't yet, please read the Rules and Details of the giveaway. Otherwise you risk being disqualified.

You MUST post on the website logged in or with the Name / URL option. Anonymous posts will be disqualified. This is because we need to be able to contact the winners. If you use the Name / URL option please be sure to put your email address in the URL box. However the '@' symbol is not allowed to just replace it with a period.

And here is your question...

What are you most excited about in Kid Icarus: Uprising? Is it the huge variety of weapons? The AR card functionality? Or something else all together? Let us know in the comments with a couple short sentences.

This contest ends at 11:59pm on Friday, July 29, 2011. We will then put everybody who submitted a comment into a drawing and select the three winners.

  1. I loved the original game, and am excited by the fact that they are trying to bring back the series. The inclusion of AR cards is also very cool, and something all developers should get into (even if it's just one card just to see the character in real life). The overall look of the game excites me too. I cannot wait to get my hands on it once it comes out (alegeobla@hotmail.com, the URL thing is giving me problems trying to put my email in there)

  2. Is it vague to say I'm looking forward to everything? We haven't seen a Kid Icarus game in years, it's about time Pit gets some love.

  3. I'm pretty happy about Pit returning, and using his Smash design. I also really like rail shooters, so it has that going for it too. What I'm most excited about though, is the 3D. I don't usually hold graphics in a high place on my priorities list, but the 3D trailer blew me away. I think I've booted that trailer more than any game on my 3DS. The multi-player also looks amazing, it is a Sakurai game after all.

  5. Honestly, I'm just excited for this game in general, considering it's Project Sora's first game and they're reviving Kid Icarus (one of my favorite NES games)! It looks beautiful for a handheld game and will undoubtedly look even better in 3D.

I'm looking forward to the multiplayer, i'd be a lot more excited if they get online multiplayer in it, though. I'm definitely curious to see how the AR cards work, they do look like a fun mini-game. Also, the variety of weapons and combat just make it look even more compelling. In short, i can't wait for this game. =D

  6. By far I am most excited to play around with the AR functions of the new Kid Icarus. I think AR is one of the coolest things about the 3DS, I can't wait to see what they do with it next!

  7. Me? I'm just glad that Pit is finally coming back. The original games were wonderful, and the first is a real challenge. They're among my favorites, and need some more love. Pit is even my main in Brawl.

This'll be the first 3DS game I get. It says something when I pick this over OoT. :P

  8. Thanks for the submissions so far everybody. Just wanted to leave a note for Vinnie Brock that if you don't add some kind of contact link on your blogger profile you will not be eligible for a prize if your name is drawn at the end of the contest.

  9. You know I never played the original, but I've been pretty stoked about this title since I downloaded the 3D trailer! It looks like it makes some of the best use of the 3D visuals I've seen yet! And the battle style seems really unique(and a little difficult!). All in all it looks to be another really solid first party title!

  11. I've been a huge fan of Kid Icarus since 1988. I've played the only two that have been made and hoped for a new one since the SNES days. What I'm most excited about is the fast-paced combat heavy gameplay.

  12. I never play the original game, or too young to remember playing it. So why am I looking forward for this game? It's because he's a new IP to me. I do love Mario, Zelda and other Nintendo's frenchies but we are bombard with these frenchies every year. It is very nice to see other characters, frenchies make their ways to be our new favorite. Nintendo has a lot of potential frenchies in their stock, I wish they can bring them back to the new generation like Ice Climbers ;)

  13. I owe it to Ssbb for re-sparking my interest in Kid Icarus, I gave the Nes game another go,
Since its announcement, Uprising has been THE game I'm looking most forward to for the 3ds.
I'm curious to see how Pit has grown as a character. x3

But to answer your question, AR:
My first priority would be to super-size KI ar cards, & take a bunch of funny photos around the city. xP
